The prerequisite for this course is CSCI 202 Introduction to Computer Science II. |
All reference materials and readings for this course are available as free resources on the Web; there is no assigned textbook that you need to purchase.
The course will involve a lot of hands-on practice and experimentation. It will also require that you learn how to use the Web as a research and problem solving tool. Email-based announcements and discussions will be done through the google group csci322. Quizzes will be taken through Blackboard. Grades on quizzes and assigments will be maintained through Blackboard.
For each assignment, you should submit a report that summarizes your work on the assignment. I will grade your performance on the assignment based on the following criteria.
| Originality | Are written materials associated with the assignment created by the student and not copied from another author? |

| Clarity | Are the written materials clear, free of grammar and spelling errors, well organized? Is code (if any) clearn, well-organized and have a consistent format? |
| Correctness | Has the student correctly solved the problems? Are statements correct? |
| Completeness | Has the student completed all work need to solve stated problems and attain the learning objectives? |
| Experimentation | Has the student caried out sufficient experiments to verify understanding and correctness of solutions? |
| Research | Has the student done sufficient research to solve the problems and attain the learning objectives of the assignment? |
| Timeliness | Has the student completed the assignment in a timely manner? Were materials submitted by the deadline? |
