Dr. Tong Lai Yu is a Professor of Department of Computer Science of California State University at San Bernardino ( CSUSB ).

He obtained an M.S.E.E. degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and a Ph.D. degree in Physics from The Johns Hopkins University in 1982 and 1986 respectively. He worked in the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory as a research assistant from 1982 to 1986.

Dr. Yu joined the Computer Science Department of CSUSB in 1986 Fall. Besides teaching and conducting research, he helps the department develop curriculum and grow which is now accredited and has a Master program.

Recently, he is interested in the areas of Linux clustering and high availabiltiy, Internet security and privacy, Java imaging, and Java Media Framework
