In this project, we designed our own MRPG using C# with OpenGL and SDL through the Tao framework. We tackled the programming problems ranging from the level of memory management and thread safety to synchronizing fireball graphical animation to the sound of its explosion. We build the project using the client-server architecture that allows multiple users (clients) to interact with each other in the game world through the game server. The MRPG project came to existence through our leads, Dr. David Turner and Dr. Arturo Concepcion, and contributions of many students in the Department of Computer Science of the CSUSB. The project will be a good battle ground for future students who enjoy tackling practical problems and sharpening their marketable skills.
