California State University San Bernardino Department of Computer Science Internship Presentation Date Dec. 7, 2007 Time 4:00pm - 4:30 am Place JB 359 Title Automated Build Status Tracking System Presenter Li Zhang Advisor Dr. Turner Abstract This project concerns the creation of an automated build status tracking system for the platform team at ESRI. The current method of status tracking is daily manual input by the builders. This can be a tedious and time consuming process. It also lends itself to inaccuracies and missed or delayed status updates. On the other hand, the new system automated updates the daily build status for all products and platforms. The new system stores all the information in the database, and keeps track of the history of the build status. In addition, this new system provides a serial of web-based tools to manage the team members, build and build's status. In this internship project, I applied the technologies I learned from the school to a real-world project, and practiced things like the database design, web-server setup and management, and most important of all how to develop a web-application using cutting edge technologies as PHP, AJAX, JavaScript and Perl.
