Technology is allowing researchers to study and doument these influences in unique ways. Please join us on Feb. 22 from 12:00-1:00 PM in PL 401 for a presentation by Dr. Alessandro Trojani, a professor of computer science at the University of Florence, and Ms. Lisa Pierce, a research associate at CSUSB's Water Resources Institute: "Italians in the American West: A Multimedia Oral History Project Documented Through GIS Technology." For the past seven years, Alessandro Trojani, a professor of computer science, and his students have been conducting extensive on-site research on Italian legacies throughout the Western U.S. During this presentation, Prof. Trojani will describe his travels, research methods, and findings. He and Lisa Pierce will explain the collaboration between the University of Florence and CSUSB in documenting data from this project using Geographic Information System (GIS) technology. Prof. Trojani has many written books and articles. His latest edition, Go West.
