POSITION OVERVIEW:
Ross Stores is looking for an Information Technology intern to work within its Supply Chain IT department in Moreno Valley, CA. The intern will report to the IT Manager and work side by side with the Distribution Center Infrastructure Services Support team.

Our intern will be a key member of the Moreno Valley High Bay expansion project. This project introduces new technology and material handling equipment into a newly constructed distribution center. The intern will participate in the go-live activities of the facility including final equipment installation and configuration of infrastructure support systems. The intern will provide support in the areas of wired and wireless networks, desktop and server hardware/ software, printing, telephony and wireless DOS and Windows Mobile handheld devices.

The 11-week period will include time working in the Moreno Valley distribution center, assisting with the implementation and support of new IT systems. The role will include opportunities to work with a wide range of technologies and applications. The intern will have the opportunity to work within a second distribution center, 1 mile away, which processes the largest volume of merchandise in the Ross distribution network.

Our intern will be exposed to a multitude of industry standard technologies in the areas of server operating systems, wired and wireless network environments. In addition, our intern will have the opportunity to contribute to significant changes within the organization, while understanding how Information Technology applies to a distribution environment.

Qualifications:

  • Computer Science, Information Technology majors preferred Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Access, Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work with corporate, as well as resources in higher positions (Directors, Executive Committees)
  • High comfort level working in ambiguous, rapidly changing environments and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction High degree of reliability including accountability for daily, weekly, and long-term projects
  • Superior analytical skills, both mathematical and problem solving
